Cash Handling Workshop

Information about this course:

This course covers the Basic of CASH HANDLING  and operating a point of sales system in a retail environment.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Operate an EFTPOS terminal
  • Use a barcode scanner to scan items for sale
  • Accept and process different payment methods
  • Balance and reconcile a cash drawer daily

Other skills gained from this workshop:

Participants will also gain further skills in Windows Operating System and file and folder management throughout this workshop.

Target audience:

This course is targeted to anyone looking to get back into the workforce and need to up skill in this area. It is also aimed at participants who don't have sufficient computer skills and are looking to improve their understanding of how computer systems and Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems work together.

This course covers the Basic of the Windows Operating System and describes the skills and knowledge required operate and manage the Windows operating system folder structure.

The unit applies to all workers who may be required to use computer systems in their everyday roles where basic computer knowledge is required.

Target audience

This course will provide you with the basic skills needed to work with the various features, tools and options available in the Windows 7/8 operating systems.

Prerequisite

It is assumed that participants should be competent in using a mouse and the keyboard.

This course covers the Basic of Microsoft Word and Excel and describes the skills and knowledge required operate and manage a Word document and an Excel Spreadsheet using the Windows operating system.

Target Audience

This course is suited to those who would like to improve their computer skills or to learn new techniques and refine their Word and Excel abilities.

HLTAID004 - Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.

The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency will contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulation (2011).

This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis”.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Duration

Mixed Mode: Completion of pre-course study plus 7 hours practical training
Face to Face: Minimum of 10 hours face to face training

Refresher Course Duration

Mixed Mode: No pre-course workbook is reuired to be completed for refresher courses only 6 hours practical training
Face to Face:  10 hours face to face training

Important information regarding course durations
Course durations, as mentioned above, are reflective of group sizes of between 4 and 15 participants. If there are less students in a group, you may find course duration reduced by a maximum of 10%. If a class size exceeds 15 participants it may therefore also be necessary to increase course duration depending on the number of participants.

Pre-course Study Options

There are a number of different options for completing the pre-course study:

  • Hard copy workbook

The pre-course study includes a question paper consisting of 65 multiple choice questions. You must take the completed paper with you to the training course.

Click on the YELLOW "Assessment" tab and print off page 6 and place your answers on this page. The workbook is a guide with the theory required to help you answer the questions. This will be marked on the day of the practical session by your trainer.
